Auto-Dicing Machine

This machine was designed to take a .100" thick x 6" square plate of a proprietary silicon carbide and aluminum blended material and dice it up into small square or rectangular pieces.  Up to 100 plates can be loaded into a magazine where a pick and place mechanism retrieves them and loads them into the feed mechanism.  The feed mechanism, via a servo-driven ball screw, delivers the plate to the cutting chamber and indexes it for each cut.  In the cutting chamber, a diamond cutting wheel first cuts a slice off the plate.  Then the slice is cut into individual pieces via a gang of diamond cutting wheels.  The finished parts are dropped into a chute where they accumulate in a hopper outside the machine.

This one machine out produced six dicing saws that that were previously used for this operation ... with far less labor.
